TVUSD: High Schools

High Schools in the TVUSD

Within the Temecula Valley school district each school has it's own standout characteristics. That being said, each school is still extraordinary in a general way as well. These descriptions are not official in any way, and any student can find themselves happy at each of these fine institutions.

Chaparral High School

The Pumas are located off of Nicolas road in Northern Temecula. The school hosts a wide variety of clubs, organizations and athletics. The school has been open since 1997 and houses a traditional range of students (Freshman to Seniors). The school aims to make a difference in the world utilizing humanitarian efforts. For example, in 2015 the school has begun organizing students to put together a trip to Haiti to rebuild orphanages that have deteriorated due to the cataclysmic events over the past decade. The school also holds a Navy JROTC program, a dance team, an AP program and much more.

When it comes to student-led organizations, Chaparral more than wins the diversity award. With clubs ranging from one dedicated to Seagull awareness to one all about the bands One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer. This wide scope of clubs is sure to fit any student’s needs for self-expression and community.

Chaparral’s athletic program is arguably most famous for their football program, but the sports don’t stop there. The school hosts the usual gamut of sports (you can find the whole list here) but even has some rarer to the Temecula area like male and female Lacrosse!

All-in-all this school is an excellent choice to any student new to the Temecula area, if you’d like to learn more about it click here.

Great Oak High School

The Wolfpack can be found in the Southern area of Temecula off of Deer Hollow Way. The school is located near Pechanga Resort and hosts a wide variety of activities. The most notable at this school are it's expansive athletics program as well as it's clubs. Any student interested in joining a community will meet little issues in Great Oak, as they'll be provided with a myriad of options at anytime in the semester.

The stunning campus opened in 2004 and boasts two state of the art computer labs, an array of athletic facilities and a performing arts complex. Like the other two schools on this page, Great Oak is traditional, with a class ranging from Freshman to Seniors. Special features of Great Oak include an Air Force JROTC, a video production studio and the Renaissance program.

In terms of athletic prowess, Great Oak has an overwhelmingly successful Track and Field team and the other sports aren't without their accolades either. This school has a general addiction to excellence. Another specialty of Great Oak is their Mountain Biking team, that meets in the spring.

This school is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with. For more information about it click here. It's definitely a great fit for any student coming into the Temecula area.
