15th ANNUAL OLD TOWN TEMECULA OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW!!

15th ANNUAL OLD TOWN TEMECULA OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW

Mark your calendar. Set an alert on your smartphone. Send a text. Tie a string around your finger. Bribe your husband. Bring your house-guests. Do whatever you have to do to remember. Just don’t forget. Don’t be late. It’s time for the 15th Annual Old Town Temecula Outdoor Quilt Show co-sponsored by the City of Temecula and the Valley of the Mist Quilters Guild. See hundreds of amazing quilts hanging from the eaves, porches and balconies of Old Town merchants with many of them made by your friends and neighbors.

Here’s the required stuff: When – Saturday, October 5 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. Admission is FREE. FREE. FREE. Yes, I said FREE.

Now here’s the good stuff: Since you didn’t have to pay for admission, you will have plenty of pocket money to check out the live auction at 1:00 (checks or cash only at each auction, please). Yes, you can actually have the opportunity to win a beautiful homemade quilt and experience the thrill of being at an auction. While waiting for the auction to begin check out the featured quilter, Jill Gorski (jillionsofbuttons.com). Need a button? Jill will have it. Need to make a gift for the upcoming holidays? Jill can show you how to make a unique button bracelet. Think you know everything there is about history? Think again. Jill can fill you in on the history of buttons and how the evolution of the button coincides with the industrial revolution. Check out the live auction and Jill Gorski at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 42051 Main St, Temecula.

Wait. There’s more good stuff. No quilt show is complete without a Vendor Mall. Check out our vendors in the Conference Center at Civic Center at 41000 Main Street, Temecula.

Oh, I almost forgot. If the excitement of a live auction is not your thing don’t fret. There will be a small quilt silent auction. Without pressure and glaring eyes, you can place a bid to win your own handmade beauty of a quilt. Check out the small quilt silent auction in front of the Antique Faire, 26801 Main Street, Temecula, from 10:00 to 12:30.

Here’s even better stuff: A portion of the funds raised from both auctions will be given to local charities. So buying a quilt gives you that warm fuzzy feeling twice: once for buying the quilt and again for the knowledge that you helped a local charity to do its thing to help others.

What? You can’t make it to the Outdoor Quilt Show on October 5? But you still want to experience the thrill of seeing gorgeous one-of-a-kind quilts? You’re in luck. With the cooperation of Old Town Merchants and the Valley of the Mist Quilters Guild a “Quilt Walk” is set for September 21 to October 6. Inside several of the many varied shops, quilts will be hanging in a place of honor.

Come on out to Old Town Temecula on October 5. Gorge on the visual display of quilts and all that Old Town has to offer.
